Our 30th Wedding Anniversary

Dec. 25th, 1978, Christmas Day, I was working at the South Davis Community Care Center, and I met a handsome young man with dark dreamy eyes, dark hair, and he was wearing a brown leather jacket. His dark eyes were mesmerizing. We were introduced by his mother, whom I worked with and he asked me out and said he would call me. Of course I didn’t hear from him (How many times have I heard that one). He showed up again at my work and said he had tried and tried to get a hold of me. When I asked what number he had been calling it was my father’s uncle who lived a block away and had died some time ago. Well, he finally asked me out and we dated the rest of that week. Our first date we went to see "Grease", and then to McDonald's for a hamburger. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. A week later I left for Ricks College and against my father’s wishes I came home every weekend to see Jim. My father worked for the church and traveled a lot through Idaho. He would take me back to school on Sunday evening, and by the time he made his rounds for the church and got back home on Friday, I was there. Jim would come get me or take back to school on occasion. Nothing kept us apart. On February 18th, 1979, we were engaged. I finished up that semester of schooling and hurried home to finish wedding plans. On June 29th 1979, we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple. It was the hottest day of the year and since it was the day before the temple closed for cleaning there were 59 brides that day. They hurried us in and out. We spent our honeymoon in Jackson Hole WY, and Yellowstone National Park. We purchased a condo in Centerville, Utah, and began our lives together. We were blessed with the best son a parent could hope for. We may be a small family, but big in love.
Jim is the best thing that ever happened to me. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank Heavenly Father that we found each other. He makes me laugh even when I don't feel like it. I don't always let him know I am laughing because that would give him the edge. He has made me a better person. He supports me in everything I do and encourages my growth. He is the most unselfish man I know. He has been with me through difficult times and has strengthened me. I love him more every day. Happy Anniversary babe!! Here's to 30 more!!

Together Forever!!!!

Our Family - Our greatest Accomplishment

We were married on my parents anniversary. Today would have been their 64th Anniversary. I can't think of two people I would rather share my anniversary with than my parents. We enjoyed many years celebrating together eating dinner at Madox in Bringham City. In four years we will be married as long as my parents were when I got married. That's Scary!!!!

We also share this special day with Brooks and Mandy Beattie. Happy Anniversary you two! We love you both.

Happy Anniversary Sis, WOW 30 years what a great accomplishment. I remember driving to Ricks with Jim and pretending I was asleep so I wouldn't have to talk, he would sing Billy Joel trying to make me feel comfortable. He's a great Bro-in-law!! I hope you are going somewhere fun to celebrate! Love ya
