Ward Eat in the Park Night
Saturday night was our ward "Eat in the Park Night." Everyone brought their own meat to grill and a pot luck dish to share. The food was great! The entertainment was fantastic, and the people, priceless!! I loved sitting and watching the children. Thanks everyone we had a great time!!

Go Sara!!
This is a little late, but I wanted Sara to know how proud we are of her. Our daughter in law Sara ran her first 10K this last Saturday. She did awesome! I think she finished in 54.43 min. and came in 42 out of 376. Here are a few shots.

Sara, just before the race began.
Jim, Keith and Kate, waiting.
Kate being silly and Nana looking stiff.
She did it!!! Sara, you were awesome!!

They're Back!!!
First day of school and all is well. Eight o'clock the halls begin to fill with teachers and pta staff. Everyone is rushing around preparing, and the anticipation is growing. Soon, parents and students fill the school. Eyes wide with excitement. New students fill the office and are finally registered when the bell rings - it's time for class. It's back to school morning, and with parents and students all in class we begin our MBTV broadcast to welcome students and give parents the information they will need for the school year. Then my stomach begins to growl, it's already noon. It's time for lunch. I grab a bite to eat and it's back to the computer to register new kindergartners. Before I know it the bell rings and it's 1:25 - school's out - I breath a sigh of relief. I feel like I have ran a race. By 4:oo I'm ready to put my feet up and veg for the night. It's good to be back!!

Good by Summer

For me summer is officially over. However, I have to say it's good to have my routine back, and it's still pretty relaxed at work. The teachers are not back yet and I'm hoping to get all caught up in the next couple of weeks before they return. I have a great job. This will be my 21st year at Meadowbrook. It's hard to believe I began working there when my son was in second grade. How time flies.
I look forward to seeing the sweet faces of children coming through the front door the first day of school, all dressed in their new outfits and so excited to meet their new teachers. A few days before we post the class lists and the children flock to the windows with anticipated eyes hoping their best friends will be in their class. It's an exciting time.
